Rep. Brian Palmer, R-Romeo, introduced a bill that would
require public schools to allow home school students to participate in public
school extracurricular programs.
House Bill 6251 would allow home school students to
participate in any non-academic activity sponsored by or held on the property of
their local school district. Such activities include a broad range of after
school programs, sports, and certain school-sponsored clubs.
The bill was referred to the House Education Committee.
