DEARBORN, Mich. — Lake Superior State University will open a
satellite campus this fall on the site of a public school academy that it
charters in Dearborn, according to Crain's Detroit Business.
The Sault Ste. Marie-based university will lease space from
Advanced Technology Academy for the new Dearborn University Consortium Center,
Crain's reported. The university has developed an articulation agreement with
Henry Ford Community College so that Henry Ford students can complete their
bachelor's degrees at the new site, the report said.
The university will offer bachelor's completion programs in
business and criminal justice this fall, and then plans to add applied
geographic information systems, computer networking and Web development, the
report said.
This is LSSU's first southeast Michigan satellite campus. It
hopes to enroll 75 to 100 students this fall, according to Crain's.
